Welcoming Professor Danijela Gasevic
Building a Stronger Academic Future
We are delighted to share with you that Professor Danijela Gasevic has joined our School as Professor of Practice in the Division of Behavioural Sciences. She will also hold a joint appointment at the Bau Institute of Medical & Health Sciences Education of HKUMed.
Professor Gasevic joins us from Monash University, Australia, where she held several academic leadership roles including Head of Postgraduate Programs and Head of Professional Education Programs in the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine. She has received numerous awards for her teaching and supervision, including the School Teaching Excellence Award and the Monash Graduate Association Lecturer of the Year Award. With over 130 peer-reviewed publications and recognition as a top 2% most-cited scientists, she brings exceptional expertise in research, curriculum development, and health professions education.
Her research focuses on chronic non-communicable diseases prevention, healthy ageing and the behavioural, social, and environmental determinants of health. She also developed and leads the globally renowned Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) Sit Less, Get Active, which has reached over 120,000 learners worldwide.
